Indie Collection

I am really excited about my new Indie Collection. It was prompted by my growing awareness and appreciation for all the people out there who are living life by their own definition - from marathon runners to musicians, people who live what they believe.

Maybe it's just because I live in Austin, but I meet a lot of inspiring people who are really following their bliss whether it's in their career or in their after hours pursuits.

I tend to think of this as a sort of Indie lifestyle. I like what the word Indie has come to mean - doing something a little different than the mainstream, taking a risk, living with integrity.

So, this line is dedicated to everyone out there earnestly trying to do their best. And, because sometimes following your bliss can be less than lucrative, I made them affordable. Yay!

View the collection here and watch it grow!

so many rings

Last week we made hundreds of new rings. Omg, so many rings. I have had really great creative flow lately. This past weekend I made 50 new charm necklaces. I'll be putting those up next week. Sometimes when I am looking at these old pieces I get this shudder of happiness. I hope they make other people this happy too.

I have some really great news. My jewelry will be for sale at Austin City Limits Music Festival next month in the Austin Craft Mafia booth. I will be out there too helping out my friend Liz of Bolsa Bonita in her booth. I am excited because I have never gotten to attend the festival before. Bob Dylan is playing on Sunday night and I am really excited about seeing him. Wow, I just realized my blog has been especially Bob Dylan heavy lately. Sorry about that.

Dreaming of cool statues in Brazil...

Gosh, I have really been out of touch recently. Sorry about that. Things have just been a little busy. I had a minor medical procedure week before last and had to take a little time to rest up.
Once I got back to the studio, I really had a pile of stuff to do. So, I hired some temporary help. I am so excited to have Julie helping me out. We are slowly getting the website caught back up.
Right now I am taking a break from photographing a bunch of new necklaces, one of which is featured above. It is a little book souvenir from Brazil with the Christ the Redeemer statue on the front. The weird coincidence is that when I was working on it, I was listening to this podcast and they were talking about the New 7 Wonders and this statue is one of them! I first saw it on an episode of The Amazing Race. I hope to see it in person someday. Anyway, more to report but later on!

new favorite necklace

I have a new favorite necklace. I put this on last week and I have been wearing it every day since. I am one to find something I like and wear it constantly. I do this with shoes too, I get a pair I like and they become my signature shoes - at the present, it's black flip flops.

Also, I just recently had this catharsis that I really like simple jewelry and it's okay for me to make it! I always thought that everything I made had to be super involved with intricate design. Don't get me wrong, I like big, chunky jewelry too but I am glad that I evolved to being okay with making simple stuff.

I am working on another very simple necklace right now that involves a little orange crescent piece that I found at the flea market in Paris.

Anyway, just wanted to share that I am really liking this three circle necklace. This necklace is on the website right now so you can get your very own. The three silver metal circles are recycled from a piece of vintage jewelry and the ball chain is sterling silver.
